Kingston Unity Members invest in the Society’s With Profits fund

Kingston Unity Friendly Society Members invest in our With Profits fund. The aim of the fund is to offer savers a better return than more traditional cash saving accounts that you would find with banks, but without entering a high-risk investment environment with their savings. This is achieved by spreading the investment over different assets, and as such our fund is considered a medium to low risk investment. If you hold a Kingston Unity Investment ISA, Friends & Family Junior ISA, Investment Bond, Tax Exempt Savings Plan or Regular Savings Plan then your money is invested in our With Profits fund.

Owned and run by our Members

We are owned and run by our Members and not for shareholder profit, meaning that any surplus profit is distributed directly back to our Members in the form of an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed but once added, cannot be removed. Many of our products also offer further peace of mind with money back guarantees as well. We’ve been operating this way for over 179 years and our Member first ethos remains at the heart of everything we do. You can see our declared bonus rates for 2019 by clicking on the link below.

Key performance notes

  • The recent MRV applied to Investment Bonds and Investment ISAs has now been removed.
  • We are proud to deliver honest and transparent rates with no hidden fees or extra management charges to our Members.
  • Following regulatory approval, Kingston Unity is proud to announce it has joined the Oddfellows family.
  • Irrespective of market turbulence, the integrity and vision of the Society has held fast with bonus rates applied and product guarantees maintained.

Where do we invest?

Our With Profits fund invests in a range of different areas such as property, shares, cash and bonds, to provide Members with a medium to low risk investment option. The aim of the fund is to offer savers a better return than more traditional cash saving options that you would find with banks, but without entering a high-risk investment environment with their savings. In addition to this, Kingston Unity applies a process known as Smoothing to produce a more consistent annual return for its members. You can learn more about Smoothing on the link below.
