Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

We are so excited about partnering with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust who work hard in our local area to protect wildlife and the areas in which they reside, as well as recording wildlife. Many of the reserves are open to visitors and we would encourage you to go down and support them.

The society will be attending some volunteering days and we hope our members will come along too, to enjoy the outdoors and support the YWT.

As part of our relationship YWT are offering our members a family membership at Half price which can be as little as £2 per month. For this you will get a book listing information about all the reserves, quarterly magazines for adults and children, a membership card allowing free entry into the 97 Yorkshire reserves and other Wildlife Trust reserves in the UK, as well as a reduced price to all the wonderful events and sessions they offer.

For more information about Yorkshire Wildlife Trust please go to YWT Website

Some of our members have been in touch to say they are taking part in Capturing our coast, at the University of Hull, Scarborough site. ‘In this project, members of the public and scientists will work together to collect information about marine species along our stunning UK coasts’

There are opportunities to go along to ‘bioblitz’ days when all are welcome or you can train as an individual to do the rocky shore surveys. If you decide to join up please let us know so we can try and meet up with you.
