LOYAL ALEXANDRA BRANCH No.206
History of Branch The Branch was founded in 1881, as the John Carr Lodge with 69 members in the old South Shields District in which 11 Branches were operational at that time. The Branch name was changed to the Loyal Alexandra in 1902 coinciding with the Coronation of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. At present the Loyal Alexandra is the only remaining Branch from the old South Shields and District. The Branch has also provided the Kingston Unity with seven Grand Masters since its inception in 1840. The present Secretary has been in office since 1977.
